Belthangady: Kemar Sandeepani Mutt Swamiji Sri Esha Vittaldas on November 5, Monday visited the residence of Sowjanya, the 17 year old student of SDM College Ujire, who was raped and murdered last month.
Speaking to reporters after meeting Sowjanya’s father Chandappa Gowda, the seer demanded a fresh investigation into the case and also sought probe into the 54 unnatural deaths reported in Dharmasthala until now.
He also appealed that all cases against those who protested against Sowjanya murder, be withdrawn.
He warned of a severe protest if the demands were unfulfilled and also said a PIL would be filed in the High Court. He also said his visit aimed at consoling the bereaved family of Sowjanya. When the seer wanted to know from Sowjanya’s father if he was satisfied with the probe, Chandappa Gowda said he wants a CBI probe. He also said the crime was not committed by a single person.
The swamiji said a protest would be launched if the demand for a thorough probe was not fulfilled within 15 days.
Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Mahesh Shetty Timarodi who also spoke, said the police were pressurized from various corners which in turn was hindering the probe. He also demanded a re-investigation into all mysterious death cases reported from Dharmasthala. He also said he had a strong doubt if at all Sowjanya was murdered elsewhere and then the body dumped near Pangala.
