Kasargod : Manipal gang rape victim will be awarded Rs 3 lac , announced the Kerala government.The girl bascially hails from Thiruvananthpuram, Kerala  and studying Medicine in KMC manipal was allegedly kidnapped by three men in an auto rickshaw and raped on June 20th.

The Kerala government has said  that it will be releasing Rs 3 lac for the girl under the central governments Nirbhaya fund, and she has awarded this fund for the courage shown by her in dealing this horiffying tragedy , said official sources.

While Sunitha Krishnan, advisor for Nirbhaya project in Kerala, had appealed to the government to award the fund to this Manipal student and  based on her recommendation, the state government took this step of awarding Rs 3 lac in recognition of the students courage and bravery.

All the three accused are arrested and are presently in Shimoga Jail
