Kasargod: The Kerala State Kannada Medium Teachers Association has urged the Kannada Development Authority to chalk out programmes to encourage students studying in Kannada medium in Kasargod district.
A delegation of the Association led by its President Vishalaksha Putrakala and General Secretary Mahalingeshwara Bhat MV have met Kannada Development Authority Mukhyamantri Chandru in Bangalore and have submitted a memorandum to him highlighting the problems being faced by Kannada medium students and teachers in Kasargod.
Their appeal was to award students who have studied in Kannada medium and have secured A plus grade and in case where students have not scored the highest grade in any school then the student scoring the highest marks should be feted, they urged.
Mukhyamantri Chandru assured the delegation of considering the demands. C Shantaraju, Secretary of Kannada Development Authority and other officials were present.
