Kasargod : Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Deputy Leader of Opposition has urged the Kerala government to order a high level enquiry into the reported murder of DYFI worker T Manoj at Thanchangad during a state wide bundh called by the CPM on August 2.
Balakrishnan wants the enquiry by a team led by an officer of the rank of DIG or above. He also strongly suspected that the government was trying to hush up the case, apparently owing to pressure from the IUML leaders. Balakrishnan was speaking to reporters after visiting the residence of Manoj who was the president o the Keekanam unit of DYFI.
Balakrishnan also charged the IUML of coming in the way of instituting a probe by the CBI into the Marad communal clashes. He also alleged that several police station in the state were under the control of IUML.
