Kasaragod: The Kasaragod Journalists’ Association has strongly condemned the continued physical attacks by local policemen on journalists doing their job. The attack has continued since last week.
The police forces who beat up ‘India vision’ channel reporter Ghousia (a lady) and two other colleagues, turned their anger upon Deshabhimani daily scribe, Rajesh managed on Nov 28 night.
This time policemen belonged to Bekal station. They stopped Rajesh going on a motor-byke after finishing his evening duty at 10.30 P.M. on Monday. He showed the identity card, but Bekal Police abused him and threw away the card, besides kicking him and snatching his mobile phone.
They kept him in the Bekal station lock-up till Tuesday morning and released him at 9 A.M. An injured reporter Rajesh hobbled into a hospital for treatment.
