Mangalore : New Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader appeared before the Second Judicial Magistrate First Class Court on May 20, Monday for hearing of a case of alleged poll code violation which had taken place six years ago.
A case had been registered against Khader under the Representation of People’s Act (RP Act) in 2007 by a sector magistrate during the bye-elections in Ullal constituency(present Mangalore) in 2006. Khader was accused of ferrying voters to booths in private vehicles at Bengre.
Defeated candidates from Ullal Chandrahas Uchil and Aboobakker Natekal of BJP and JD(S) respectively were also present for hearing has been adjourned to May 22.
