Udupi : Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has said that the state government was making all possible efforts to fill in vacancies in the department of health.
Presiding over a review meeting on the functioning of the Department of Health at the DC office on July 1, Monday, the Minister said steps have been taken to appoint 350 doctors and 2500 ‘D’ Group workers in the health department.
The District Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Ramachandra Bairi informed the meeting that 658 Malaria cases were detected in the district this year. He said so far no death has been reported due to dengue.
The Health Minister said dialysis machinery would be provided to all taluk level hospitals next year.
Udupi Legislator Pramod Madhwaraj urged the minister to provide better amenities to the Government Hospital at Ajjarkad and upgrade it.
