New Delhi: Intensifying the campaign against Law Minister Salman Khurshid in the alleged embezzlement case by his NGO, India Against Corruption (IAC) activist Arvind Kejriwal is set to present more evidence against the minister in the case on Monday.
Kejriwal is expected to present more evidence against the minister today afternoon.
Demanding Khurshid’s resignation, Kejriwal spent another night at Jantar Mantar and said that protestors will continue to stay there till the minister steps down.
Meanwhile, Salman Khurshid is likely to meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today and explain his position.
The Congress has stood with Khurshid and has ruled out his resignation over the issue. Several Congress leaders including I&B Minister Ambika Soni, MoS in the PMO Narayanasamy and Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh came out in the defence of the Law Minister.
On Sunday, Khurshid denied any wrongdoing by the Zakir Hussain Memorial Trust, of which he is president and wife Louise Khurshid is project director. He produced documents and pictures to prove that camps were held in Uttar Pradesh to provide hearing aids and tricycles to the disabled.
Khurshid said that he would pursue legal action against a TV news channel which first aired allegations of financial misappropriation in the running of the trust and Arvind Kejriwal.
