Bangalore : ‘Singam’, super hit Tamil action movie, starring Surya, Sivakumar and Anushka Shetty as the lead pair, is all set to become a film in Kannada. The film unlike other remakes, will not create any silly controversies since the Producer Shankare Gowda has acquired the rights for his Kannada version.
The title of the Kannada version movie will be named as Kempe Gowda , for which actor Sudeep has been approached for the lead role. Apart from acting, Sudeep will also direct the movie for Shankare Gowda. Previously, Sudeep had directed and acted for Shankare Gowda in the movie ‘Just Maath Maathalli’ which was a tragedy. Lets keep our fingers crossed to avoid the history to repeat itself this time too. The original Tamil movie Singam is also set to be remade in Hindi starring Ajay Devgun as the lead and Rohit Shetty as the director.
The story of Kempe Gowda has a similarity from Sudeep’s previous movie, Thirupathi, which was below the average at the box office. Further Sudeep is also shooting for Kannada movie Kanwarlal. With the movies likeKempe Gowda and Kanwarlal, Sudeep seems to look busy this year. Let’s wish, he can handle the pressure and give a good family- oriented movie in 2011.
In fact Kempe Gowda was the name of the founder of Bengaluru where the famous Nandi Temple is located in Basavanagudi.
