Mumbai: With Kingfisher Airlines pilots once again on a strike, at least four Kingfisher flights scheduled to leave Mumbai had to be cancelled, adding to the inconvenience of several passengers who were supposed to fly in these flights. The flights were bound to Mangalore, Chennai and Khajuraho. The pilots went on a strike after their talks with the Airlines Chairman Vijay Mallya on payment of their salary dues failed to arrive at any consensus and Mallya failed to make any commitment on payment of salaries. Reports say the staff have not received their pay since the past five months.
The pilots had even gone on strike some time back but had returned to work following an assurance to fulfill their demands.
The Kingfisher Airlines of liquor baron Mallya is in severe financial crunch and has not paid its dues to oil companies and airports and has also defaulted in paying service tax and TDS..
