Mangalore:The Kudremukh Iron Ore CO. Ltd(KIOCL), a Government of India(GoI) enterprise that is on bad days, has donated under a scheme of Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) equipments like 10 KVA generator set, solar waterheater, drinking water machines and medical appliances worth Rs.371,500 to the Vamanjoor Government Hospital for TB/Chest diseases, for regular use. K. Ranganath of KIOCL made the gesture in the presence of senior officers of KIOCL and Hospital, on Wednesday.
In another function, held at Nanthoor in Shri Bharathi College, K. Ranganath(CMD), has donated a classroom built by KIOCL, on March 21 morning. The classroom has a size of 28 feet x 32 feet in area. Director K. Subba Rao(KIOCL) and College administrators, staff and students attended.
Speaking on the occasion, Ranganath said food and education were two important donations made to the society at large. But education lasts longer and creates opportunities for food and learning evermore. Under the CSR Policy, KIOCL had helped many individuals and institutions.
A part of KIOCL profits was earmarked for social Welfare, and the benevolent policy would continue, he stressed.
