Mangaluru: ‘Kisan Sangharsha Jatha’ has arrived to the city. Jatha which was started from Kanyakumari with the demands to withdraw globalisation, to fix scientific supportive price to crops and many other, arrived the district on Tuesday.
As the section 144 was imposed in the district, organisers changed the venue to DC office premises to NGO hall.
Addressing the gathering farmers’ association leader Omallur Shankaran said “we are getting great support from the people for the protests against the Central government’s anti people policy. Modi led government is encroaching agricultural land. Farmers in crores of numbers are afraid of their future.”
HCPM leader K R Shriyan, Jatha leader Prasad, Dr Ashok Dhavle, Maruthi Manpade and others were present.
