Mangaluru : Atrocities against women have been on the rise as there was no fear among rapists. They know the legal process is a long one. Sri Ram Sene demands stringent punishment for rapists,” said Sri Rama Sena chief Pramod Muthalik in a press meet here on November 16, Sunday.
Addressing to the reporters at Aryasamaj Bhavan premises , he said if the ‘Kiss of love’ campaign comes to the state, we will have no choice but to take the law into our hands.
Mr. Mutalik called the campaign “immoral” and something that should be “done in the confines of the house”. “We will ensure it does not happen in Karnataka, if so we will forcefully stop it,” he said.
On the Tirthahalli incident involving the death of a 14-year-old school girl recently, Mr. Mutalik said both the major political parties – the ruling Congress party and the opposition BJP party – had politicised the issue.
However, he claimed there was “enough suspicion” to believe the police investigation was being suppressed to protect the accused.
Meanwhile, Sri Ram Sene will be conducting martial arts training for women in the district in mid-December. The organisation said their two-day training in Hubballi recently had seen more than 100 participants.
Kumar Malemar, Jeevan Neermarga, Ganesh Athavara, Pradeep Mudushedde, Sudatta Jain and others were present.
