Mangalore: Further to the complaint lodged by a citizen, T S Haneef Saheb this week, the MESCOM sent its Vigilante team led by officer Harishchandra on December 10 along with department officials from Shivmogga, chikkamagalur, Udupi and Kadri to Athavar to check up the document of KMC hospital in Athavar and also of KMC dental college and school situated behind it.

After a daylong stringent investigation of all available document relating to power supply and the extensions to such supply from 2000, 2006 and 2010 which were normal the misuse of power was found in the last extension which was diverted to dental college from KMC , Athavar, in violation of rule prevailing in MESCOM.

Thus KMC Athavar was held responsible for illegal power supply made without authority to its sister-concern KMC dental college and school situated just behind its own 7 storied building.

Harishchandra told pressman at the MESCOM auditorium in Pandeshwar that the violation was done by offering its own power supply by KMC Athavar to KMC dental college and school without reporting the matter or taking the permission of MESCOM since 4 or more years as the complainant Haneef Saheb had pointed out. This was perhaps the only and the largest power diversion unrecognized in the history of MESCOM or it he state according to the vigilantes department of MESCOM
