Mangalore : The KMC Hospital will be offering tertiary care facilities to children diagnosed with cancer through the new Paediatric Haematology Oncology Department.
Informing this to reporters, Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Anand Venugopal said children suffering from cancer which can be cured should not be ignored and should get proper treatment.
He said the new department will have blood bank services, histopathology services, patient and family-centred tertiary care. Treatment will be delivered either as an in-patient or an out-patient with regular inputs from different specialists such as paediatric haemato oncologists, paediatric surgeons and radiation oncologists.
Dr Harsha Prasada was present on the occasion.
