Mangalore : The state level programme was held as a part of 58th Akhila Bharata Sahakari Sapthaha at Loyola Hall of St Aloysius College on November 15, Tuesday.

Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the programme. He said that State government is also trying to help the people with various schemes. Today the state government is giving loan to farmers and other with the interest of 1 percent. It is happy to see that co-operative society is helping people in large number, the government must help such more co-operative societies to come up in the state and the societies must make an effort to reach this scheme to the beneficiaries.

Palemar introduce the new scheme ‘Chinnabharana Kharidi Sala’ (Loan to purchase jewelry), where customers can avail loan upto Rs 10 lakhs to purchase jewelry.

Karnataka State Co-operative Federation President G T Devegowda presided over the function.

Karnataka Assembly Deputy Speaker N Yogish Bhat, felicitated B Padmanabha Borker, president of Panaje Agricultural Co-operative Society of Dakshina Kannada district and S Dinakar Shetty, president of Primary Co-operative agriculture and rural Development Bank, Kundapur of Udupi district.

He said that most of the societies in the state are harassing people in the name of co-operative societies; hence people must be aware of the societies they are going to depend on.

Speaking on the occasion, South Canara District Central Cooperative (SCDCC) Bank President M N Rajendra Kumar felicitated the presidents of six best co-operative groups. Speaking on the occasion he said that Co-operative society is one which has given more work to the people of cities and even rural villages, but the international companies is giving job to only the people of cities.
