Kundapur: Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr R Vishal, said, the police were investigating the Kollur Temple theft case and that the district administration would conduct inquiry only if necessary.

“The police have received all details related to the theft. Authorities plan on entrusting the temple counter to some banks. After police enquiry, the district administration will initiate action within powers of its jurisdiction, or else the matter would be referred to the government for suitable action. The accounts of temple have not been audited since the past eight years and the process has been going on. If documentary evidence was available, strict action would be initiated against such persons.”
