Mangalore : The Dakshina Kannada district unit of the Komu Sauharda Vedike which has expressed its grave concern over the several incidents of disrupting communal peace like the Holy hill shrine attack case as well as the recent Kalladka clash episode, has urged the Union Government to declare the district as a communally sensitive region.
Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, District President of the Vedike, who was speaking to reporters in Mangalore on July 3, Tuesday said the district administration has remained a silent spectator even when an organization called Sanathana Samstha, which is an accused in several cases of disruptive acts, has organized a seminar on Hindu nation in one of the city colleges and was also involved in distributing provocative literature to the people.
The central government must implement the 13th and 14th points of the Prime Minister’s 15 point programme to tackle communal crimes immediately, he demanded.
Human rights activist and PUCL President PB D’Sa. Mohammad Kakkinje, Kabeer Ullal and others were present on the occasion.
