Mangalore : Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar has suspended the Konaje SI Shivaprakash on the charges of dereliction of duty. The SI had registered a case of accident  with regard to the death of a woman, though it was actually a murder case. The accident case was registered as per the complaint lodged by the accused himself.

On December 6, Sauda, wife of Razak of Derlakatte had sustained serious injuries after she  reportedly fell off the bike of one Abdul Rehman. She had later died at the hospital. The Konaje SI who had taken the case lightly had registered it as a case of accident. However, Sauda’s husband Razak who returned from abroad had complained to the Commissioner stating his wife was killed by Abdul Rehman. Ullal inspector Madan Gaonkar had taken up the investigation when it revealed that Abdul Rehman had killed Sauda. The Konaje SI was already facing the charges  of considering the case lightly. On January 24, the Commissioner Kharbikar has passed an order suspending Shivaprakash.
