Mangalore : Scholarships worth Rs 12 lakhs were distributed among 171 students belonging to different communities on behalf of the Konkani Cultural Organization (KCO), based in Abu Dhabi, and Samanvaya of Mangalore at Shanthi Kiran Hall in Bajjodi on August 26, Sunday.
Ivan D’Souza, secretary of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), who spoke on the occasion, hailed the contributions of the Christian community to the social and economic development of the region. He exhorted students to achieve excellence in academics and contribute to the nation.
KCO President Michael D’Souza, presided over the function. District Congress President Ramanatha Rai.,Fr Ronald Cutinha, Director of Samanvaya, Fr. Pius Fidelis Pinto, Managing Trustee of Samanvaya, Robert Rego, former president of KCO and others wee present.
