Mangalore : Senior writer Na D’Souza inaugurated a three-day translation workshop organised by the World Konkani Centre, Shaktinagar in Mangalore on October 26, Friday. The workshop is being held in association with Kuvempu Bhasha Bharathi Pradhikara of Bangalore and the Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation of Mangalore.
Dr Geetha Shenoy, noted translator, who spoke on the occasion said that the World Konkani Centre has a project of translating Konkani literature into Kannada and added Konkani writers have contributed significantly to Kannada literature.
Melwyn Rodrigues, noted poet, Basti Vaman Shenoy, President of Konkani Language and Cultural Foundation and Venkatesh Baliga, Secretary were the chief guests. Konkani Bhasha Mandal President Raghunath Shet, Gladys Rego, Madhav Pai and others were present on the occasion.
