Bangalore: The Malnad Gladiators lost to Mangalore United team by just 2 runs in the last over of the day in a low-scoring match on Thursday.
The Mangalore team made the most of a loss of toss by getting batting chance in KPL Championship matches. It lost all wickets for only 135 runs. Malnad were left to chase this easy target, like now or never. But they failed to hang on and made 133 runs losing 7 wickets in 20 overs. Raju Bhatkal (30), Nishant Hegde (26) and KC Avinash (10) played well for the Malnad team, whereas Jonathan (38) and Vidhuvan (24) shone for Mangalore team.
