Mangalore : District in charge Krishna J Palemar inaugurated the ‘Adhar’ card giving facility for the media representatives at Press Club on September 2, Tuesday.
The ‘Adhar’ facility will be held in Press Club for two days, under the supervision of B Vasudev Shetty, Revenue Department officer of MCC.
Speaking on the occasion, Palemar said that common people are not giving importance to the identity card. Hence this opportunity is being given to the people to register their name in the country as a citizenship and avoid fake identities.
He also said that the people in rural area still do not know the use of this identity card. If this ‘adhar Card was known from the time of election, ever citizen would have it by now.
Today the ration cards have been issued to the people more than the actual population, and further this card will avoid such illegal supply, he added.
Mahadev Swamy of Glow dine organization who conducts the finger prints and photo scan said that he came from Mysore said that it will be happy to work with the media and create awareness.
DKWJU president P B Harisprasad Rai welcomed the gathering and Srinivas Indaje, secretary proposed vote of thanks.
