Kundapur : Krishnaiah Mogaveera, who died in an accidental firing by French troops outside the Bangui airport in the Central African Republic, was cremated amid hundreds of mourners on April 1, Monday. The body was earlier brought to the hometown when family members including the wife and children of Krishnaiah Mogaveera were inconsolable.
The last rites were held at a ground close by the family residence.
Krishnaiah Mogaveera had worked for a pharma company in Central African Republic and had thought of returning home, considering the disturbed situation in the nation. He had been to the Airport on that fateful day to enquire about the flights when the French troops had mistaken him and others along with him for terrorists and had opened fire.
The French Consul General in Bangalore, had earlier visited the family and had expressed the condolences on behalf of French Government.
