Mangalore : Karnataka State Malayali Christian Association president A C Jayaraj said that the association demands CBI probe into murder of Rev Fr K J Thomas, the Rector of St Peter’s Pontifical Seminary Malleshwaram, Bangalore.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on April 24, Wednesday he said that Fr Thomas had a good rapport with all other priests in the seminary. But on April 1, he was found murdered in the seminary campus and the case was registered in Crime No. 157/2013 of Yashwanthpur police, Bangalore.
He also said that on Easter Sunday night, Fr Thomas was forcibly pulled out of the seminary and was beaten up in bricks and iron rods by the criminal but still no progress in the investigation so far.
Jayaraj urged the police officials to arrest the culprits and bring them within the framework of the law and should ensure that they are penalized.
Hence the Karnataka Government must withdraw the investigation from State Police and hand over it to CBI, he urged.
