Puttur: The KSRTC bus rammed into a lorry injuring around 25 students from Subrahmanya pre University College and other nearby schools near forest depot gate, Puttur on Sep 29.
Reportedly, the driver of the lorry said to have stopped his lorry at once without proper signal on the middle of the road to open the forest depot gate.
The injured have been identified as Swetha, Kavya, Latha, Gyathri, Harshith CK, Yatish, Chandrashekara, Swethakumari MR, Padmesh, Janani, Yakshitha, Saumya, Swathi, Suraksha, Anusha from Subrahmanya pre university college and Ranjith a 10th standard student and Chandramma (55).
Soumya a first year PUC student has been seriously injured. The injured have been given first aid treatment at Kadaba and later shifted to Puttur hospitals.
After the incident, passengers of the bus assaulted the lorry driver.
Kadaba police have registered the case.
The management of KSRTC paid a compensation of Rs 1,000 to the injured passengers.
