Bangalore : Members of the Karnataka State Transport Corporation Employees Joint Committee are planning to go on an indefinite stir from September 13 if the corporation fails to concede to their demands.
Their allegation is that the KSRTC management had gone against the agreement reached upon between the committee and the KSRTC on the pay scale of the KSRTC staff.
B Jayadevaraje Urs, the convener of the joint committee, said they are left with no other option but to go on strike for being cheated, despite being aware of the inconveniences which the strike would cause to the public.
He said they would go on a strike in the event of failure of the management and employee to arrive at a consensus during a meeting on Wednesday.
Earlier, in April when the unions threatened to go on strike the government had agreed to fulfill the promises, but had failed to keep up its words. The AITUC has extended its support to the strike, while the Association of Transport Corporation Workers and Retired Workers have decided not to support the strike.
