Mangaluru: As the discussion held by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with the KSRTC employees was failed to conclude with a firm decision, KSRTC employees are going to stage protest and indefinite strike from June 25.
All India Trade Union Congress, DK and Udupi is backing the protest by insisting the state government to intervene in the issue and to give a permanent solution for this. AITUC has pointed out the fact of Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation employees are getting paid much lesser than any other state’s transport corporation.
H V Rao, District Secretary of AITUC said that the state government is treating its employees like bonded labours. The harassment against KSRTC employees is more than any other department. The Central government has increased its employees pay to 23.55 per cent, but the state government hasn’t responded for the problems of its employees.
“State government is planning to hike the salary by just 8 per cent. It is a regrettable movement by the government. Because of these unsatisfied developments in the state government the KSRTC’s joint committees have called for indefinite strike. AITUC backs the protest of KSRTC employees,” he said.
