Kasargod :  The hike in KSRTC bus fares has hit hard frequent commuters on the Mangalore-Kasargod route. The bus fare which earlier was Rs 40 has now risen to Rs 45 following the hike.

But, private buses on the route have not increased their fare. Karnataka buses charge stage-wise rates till Kerala border, Talapady, but have not increased fares between Talapady and Kasargod.

Meanwhile, there are reports that even Kerala State Transport Corporation is contemplating a hike in fares.

The hike in Karnataka state road transport corporation fares  has hit hard mainly daily travelers including students and  people who travel to  Mangalore for work.

In this backdrop, there is a growing demand to reduce the fare.
