Mangaluru : Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Mangaluru Divisional Controller P Yashwanth Kumar who was found guilty of disposing files related to KSRTC Hassan division was placed under suspension pending an inquiry by KSRTC MD Shivayogi C Kalasad.
Kumar had recently assumed charge as the Mangaluru Divisional Controller after being transferred from Hassan.
The vigilance wing of KSRTC on being tipped that Kumar was signing files of Hassan Division (in the absence of his successor) inspected the Mangaluru office and found files of Hassan Division.
A probe by KSRTC Director (Security and Vigilance) P S Harsha found the officer guilty of misconduct and submitted a report to the KSRTC MD.
Besides Kumar, another administrative officer in Hassan Division was also suspended. Kumar was suspended when he was serving as the Divisional Mechanical Engineer at KSRTC’s Chikkamagaluru Division in 2008.
He along with four other officials were accused of buying battery cables at double the market price without floating tenders.
