Mangaluru: Karanataka Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has started issuing bus pass facility in the city buses from today. The commuters can avail the pass from today by remitting a monthly fee of Rs 600 which is requires a renewal on monthly basis. The facility is available in 30 buses and the list includes 21 NURM buses also. The commuters can avail their passes either from KSRTC bus stand or KSRTC traffic control room located near State Bank.

Inorder to restrict the misapplication of the facility the commuters have asked to obtain an identity card pasted with their photograph on it by paying Rs 50. The ID card issued should be renewed every year. The commuters who travel long distance within the city limits are expected to get advantage from this new project.

Bus pass facility is available from State Bank to Mudushedde, Pilikula, Gurupura, Shaktinagara, Mudipu, Ganeshpura and other areas of the city limit. Meanwhile, commuters can avail the pass facilities in rural areas including Someshwara, Adyarpadavu, Mudipu, Bajpe and others.
