Mangaluru : A total 30,835 students have registered themselves for appearing in the SSLC examination being held from June 25 said, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh on Friday, June 05.
She was speaking after presiding over the 2020 SSLC examination preparatory meeting at the office of the deputy commissioner here. She revealed that Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation would be arranging free bus travel for the students and that the students can travel in those buses by showing their hall tickets. She said that the examination will continue till July 4.
“As many as 95 examination centres have been set up in the district. Nineteen additional examination centres have been set aside and as per the government guidelines, 20 students will be allotted to each of the rooms,” she stated.
“The students, before they appear for the examination, will be tested with thermal screening. If any symptoms of the disease are found they will be accommodated in separate room. For this purpose, 102 rest rooms would be readied. All the rooms where examination will be held need to be completely sanitised,” she added.
The students will be given free masks being provided by scouts and guides as well as G Shankar Family Trust. Every examination centre will have four scouts’ teachers, who will serve as volunteers,” said deputy director of public instruction, Malleswamy.
The deputy commissioner stated that 345 students from Kasargod will be appearing for the examination in the district and that they can enter Karnataka by showing hall tickets at the state border.
ADC M.J. Rupa, DCP Arunamsha Giri, Assistant Commissioner Madan Mohan and other officials were present.
