Belthangady : More than 30 passengers traveling in a KSRTC ‘Vaibhav’ luxury bus toppled at Madyala Chadavu near the Dharmasthala Welcome Arch on April 29, Tuesday.
The bus was carrying the people as a part of tour arranged by the Department of women and Child Welfare that commenced from Kolar on April 27 and reached Dharmasthala on April 28. On April 29, Tuesday, after an overnight stay, the bus was on its way towards Hassan and Belur and met with an incident just at some distance as the driver lost control over the bus.
As soon as the matter of accident reached the temple and KSRTC unit of Dharmasthala, the staffs along with Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr. D Veerendra Heggade rushed to the spot and pressed JCB and Ambulance to the service to rescues the injured passengers.
Some of the injured have been admitted to SDM hospital at Ujire, while the passengers who were unhurt were sent to their native place.
Belthangady police have registered a case against the driver Naveen Kumar.
