Mangalore : As a part of centenary celebration Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, will be celebrating Dasara 2012 in a special historical way said Harikrishna Bantwal, temple development committee member.
Speaking at the press meet held at Shree Gokarnanatha Kshetra, Kudroli on October 9, Tuesday he said the centenary celebration will commence from October 14 and conclude on October 25.
He also said that over 200 temple priests participate in the rituals of Brahmakalashotsava rituals in the presence of Shivagiri Mutt Swamiji from on October 19 and 20.
On the special occasion, devotees across the state from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Chikmagalur, Hassan, Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujrat, Bangalore, Mysore will offer ‘Hasiru Hore Kani’ to the temple on October 14. The Hore Kanike will be brought in 1000 vehicles to temple from Nehru Maidan for the occasion and will mark as the history, he said.
Devotees from all religions like Muslims and Christian will also take part in the Hore Kanike which will start from Nehru Maidan, he added. The special jatha will proceed from Nehru Maidan via A B Shetty Circle, K S Rao Road, P V S Circle, M G Road, Ladyhill, Mannagudde and conclude at Temple.
More than one lakh devotees will be participate in the ‘Annasantharpane’, which will be held on Oct 20. Sonia Gandhi’s participation on Oct 18 in temple is confirmed, he said.
HS Sairam, president of temple managing committee, Urmila Ramesh Kumar, co-president of temple development committee, Raghavendra Kulur, vice president, temple development committee members – Devendra Poojary, DR BG Suvarna, M Shekar Poojary, Vishwanath Kasargod, N Harishchandra, DD Kattemar, Leelaksha Karkera and Dr Anasuya BT Salian were present at the meet.
