Mangalore : Former Union Minister B Janardhan Poojary said that Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple will hold a religious programme for 5000 married women on January 1, 2012 Sunday at 9 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 29, Saturday said that temple has organized various programmes for married and widow women to give them a status and will further too will continue it, he said.
He also said that around 5000 women who will participate in the event will resolve to be loyalty to their husband and protect them from every difficulty and take part in the chandika Homa in the temple.
Further they will offer aarthi to the god and pull the silver chariot of god around the temple premises.
He said that women will be given saree, blouse piece, 6 bangles, one Rupee coin, jasmine flower and vermillion as a prasadam after taking the determination.
He said that no women will be forced and they will come on their own interest. The women interested to take part in the occasion have to register tier names in the temple in advance.
He also said that he had got many call from the women to contue this event in the temple which gives respect to them.
