Mangalore: The Kuloor fly-over at the junction, has been opened for traffic on Thursday but local people are not happy. New problems seem to have cropped up.
A constable guiding traffic at the fly-over said it was a boon and sign of relief. The traffic has melted somewhat. It took 5 years to see such a flyover of 800 meters, which(now) can be shown by a single constable, in place of two or more who needed to control the rush, Kiran said.
The traffic condition has changed till Nanthoor on highway, he admitted.
Shabbeer, a shopkeeper noted that many of the vehicles used the fly-over at Kuloor presently, and that dust had come down from an unbearable situation.
Melvyn, the autodriver, wanted a bus stop at the busy junction, and said that the flyover stole a march over auto vehicles and his livelihood, as buses stop only at Kottara.
Only few passengers are seen in Kuloor. The service raid is narrow and a break-down of vehicle can lead to the traffic disruption, the auto driver added. Yes, a bus stop was needed near the Kuloor flyover.
