Kasargod : Kumble police registers case against five persons including a woman for blackmailing a hotelier, by pressuring him to pay the money after enticing him with marriage offer.

The police have arrested four accused, identified as Abdul Irshad (35) from Kallangai, P K Kunhikoya (50) from Povval Kota House, Moidin Kunhi (32) from Arikkady, and Tahira (28) from Povval, whereas the another accused hailing from Uppala Kaikamba, is absconding and search for him is on.

The police have taken action against the five as per the complaint filed by Mohammed (50), a resident of Arikkady and hotelier in Mumbai.

It is learnt that, the accused knew about the slit relationship between complainant and his wife. Hence they had him to a girl and lured him with the offer of convincing her to marry him. They complainant and the accused women had a telephonic conversation over a period and based on this they started blackmailing him.

The police have registered a case for blackmailing of persons for monetary gain, secret tapping of telephonic conversations and illegally recording them and cheating. Investigations are on.
