Kundapur : Members of the general public who gathered in large numbers at the Shastri Circle here on May 24, Friday evening, thrashed a mentally ill man for reportedly trying to molest a car who was severely injured after he pushed her on to the middle of the road. The girl has been hospitalized after she was knocked down by a bike.

As soon as the news spread, people caught hold of the man tied him to an electric pole and thrashed him. Finally, the police who arrived at the spot , took him away.

In another instance, public entered into a heated debate     with a lorry driver who was driving recklessly in a drunken stupor. The situation almost got out of control as the lorry driver lashed out at the public. The police arrived at the spot and took him to custody.
