Kundapur : In a private bus accident 1 passenger died and several others were injured near Halady, in Kundapur taluk on Wednesday June 18 morning.

The deceased has been identified as Sumanth (18).The bus heading to Udupi from Siddapur in the morning. Sources said that, the axle of the bus broke down in Halady Bridge the driver could not control over the vehicle.

The bus fell into a ditch; Sumanth lost his life on the spot, several students and other got seriously injured.

The injured were shifted to the hospitals in Manipal, Kundapur, and Halady.

A case was registered at Shankarnarayana police station.
