Kundapur : The road divider issue in Kundapur on the NH 66 that cropped up a controversy turned worse on May 23, Thursday with two accident cases reported. However DySP Yashoda S Vantagodi who arrived at the spot  assisted in resolving the issue.

ON May 23, a car hit a tipper laden  with boulders while taking a turn near the divider despite the efforts of the car driver to avert a collision.

Soon here was another accident involving a Kinetic Honda and a car./ In this case, the couple in the two-wheeler were injured.

Finally police put up temporary barricades and urged NH authorities to ensure safety of public and motorists during NH widening works.

Though there were four temporary dividers  between Vinayaka Circle and Koteshwar, all were removed and anew divider put up there despite opposition from locals. Now with more accidents taking place, public are up in arms against the authorities.  A total of nine accidents have been reported from the place.

Taluk panchayat member, Manju Billava, President of Vinayak Auto Rickshaw Drivers Association, Mahesh Shenoy, Hangalur gram panchayat president and others were also present.
