New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh minister Babu Singh Kushwaha and BSP MLA Ram Prasad were on Saturday arrested in connection with National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) scam.
Uttar Pradesh Lokayukta Justice NK Mehrotra had recommended a probe by the CBI against the former state health minister.
He was sacked from the state’s ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) in November 2011. He then joined the BJP ahead of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, which drew widespread flak and also triggered a possible split in the state party.
Kushwaha then offered that his membership to the party be suspended till he is cleared of corruption charges, which was accepted.
