Mangalore : Karnataka Zakat and Charitable Trust (KZCT), Chairman Khaleel Ahmed, affiliated to the Hyderabad Zakat and Charitable Trust (HZCT), said that around 5,800 meretricious Muslim students will get the scholarship at the programme held to distribute the scholarship which will be held at Loyola Hall of St. Aloysius College on Dec 11, Sunday at 10.30 am.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Gateway, he said that KZCT believed that if the Muslim community was encouraged to pay their Zakat on a collective basis, then more structured effort can be made to mark a meaningful difference in the way it is used for the welfare of the community.
Jb Ghiasuddin Babukhan, chairman of (HZCT and Jb Khaleel Ahmed , chairman of Karnataka Zakat and Charitable Trust will be the chief guest and distribute the amount of Rs 2.5 crore Rs among the 5,800 student.
