Mangalore: Labour department officials rescued four minor boys, who were been employed at an industrial unit in Baikampady Industrial Area on September 13, Tuesday.
The department took the action as per the complaint filed by by the office-bearers of Akhila Bharata Karmika Sangha.
The rescued kids are Mothi Kumar, Sajal Kumar, Gangaram Kumar, and Rohith Kumar of Bihar. They have been taken to Bala Mandir in Bondel and their ages are yet to be determined.
Venkatesh Shindhihatti, the assistant labour commissioner, said that the boys will be produced before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) after the preliminary enquiry and required medical tests.
CWC Chairperson Asha Nayak said that the committee is collecting information about the four children.
