Bangalore: Union Labour Minister, Mallikarjuna kharge, blamed Karnataka govt. for non-cooperation with the centre in its implementation of several welfare schemes. He was laying the foundation stone for an ESIC Nursing College with auditorium in city. Speaking to newsmen, that the centre desired to set up Skill Development Centres in Gulbarga and Bangalore with earmarked funds shown in the budget.
As the state did not provide 20 acres of land in each region, more funds may not be allotted in this year’s budget, he stated. Rs. 200 crores had been sanctioned for 2 centres, but the state could neither allot the land, nor the balance funds required to avail the projects, he added.
The centres could have helped poor and uneducated workers to develop skills and seek employment all over the globe. The CM has to take advantage of such schemes for the state development gradually.
