Udupi: BT Lalitha Naik, former minister and presently the National Vice President of Welfare Party of India launched the Udupi unit of the Party at Town Hall on March 24, Sunday.
In her address, Naik deplored the present day political parties which were involved in making fast bucks least bothered about the welfare of the people. She said the Welfare Party of India would strive to work for the welfare of the downtrodden in the society and strongly believed in the ideals of the great socialist leader Jayaprakash Narayan.
State President of the Party Akbar Ali presided over the function. Several party leaders including State General Secretary Mohammed Ibrahim, Vice President Ravindra Brahmeshwar, , Vice president of district unit Dinakar Uchila, Secretary Ashif J D, Shimoga District President Ayub Sahab, Uttara Kannada District President Ashraf Brahmavar, Udupi District President Anwar Ali, Minority Cell State President Laiju Sebastian and others were presen.
