Mangaluru : Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Tulu Chair and Nandadeepa Prakashan, Kanyana jointly organised an event at University College Mangaluru to release two Tulu dramas- ‘Beli’ and ‘Sapoda Kann’ by Akshatha Raj Perla, recently.
After releasing the books, Mangalore University Vice Chancellor Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya opined that language gets matured with the literary works. “A language gets documented with the books, which cant happen with social media,” he added.
Brahmashree Narayanaguru Chair Coordinator Dr. Ganesh Amin Sankamar, said, “It is not easy to apply mythical characters to the current social situation. Still, it is wonderful that the author has chosen the role of Shikhandi, which has been neglected by literatures.” Playwright Shashiraj Kavoor, who introduced the work, said that both works have the consciousness and logic. Short, quick, effective narration, as well as continuity in dialogue is appreciable.
MRPL CSR Deputy General Manager Veena T. Shetty, Ranjan Bellarpadi of Ramakrishna Mission were also present. Principal Dr. Anusuya Rai presided over the function. Akshataraj Perla was felicitated on the occasion. Tulu Chair Convenor Dr. Madhava MK delivered the introductory note. Geeta Jain mastered the event.
