Kumbla: “Language should be a medium to express our feelings with others. But we should not fight for the language. Language should not destroy the unity among the society,” said Health Minister K R Ramesh.
He was speaking after inaugurating 13th janapadg sanchara and Onam celebration programme organised by Karnataka Kodava Sahitya Academy and Beary Sahitya Academy, on Wednesday.
“Festivals of coastal region are different than any other places. Celebrating Onam jointly is the best thing. To build the brotherhood and prosperity this type of attempts are needed. Youth also should be aware of the culture and local festivals. They should not try to spoil the real meaning of any festivals,” he said.
Chief Guest of the programme MP P Karunakaran said that Kasargod is famous for peace and humanity. It has been identified as a unique area due to various cultures.
ZP Standing Committee President Harshag Vorkady, KaSaPa President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, Manjeshwara block Congress President AK M Ashraf, GP President Bharati Shetty and others were present.
