D C Dr. Chennappa Gowda has sought Rs5 crores from the state Govt. for DK dt., to provide relief to the people who faced damages to their houses by lashing rains.
From January’ to June 18, the DK region received 1860 mm of rains this year (as against 1484 mm in 2010). Six persons died in natural calamities since April in 2011 till now. Heavy rain full was reported all over the coast in the last 3 days. Highest rain fell in Belthangady taluk. Fishermen wee warned against onshore winds from west side at 55 Km ph.
