Mangalore: Anti-Terrorist Squad of Karnataka Police has arrested a suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba militant allegedly involved in various cases, including the 2008 Bangalore serial bomb blasts.
Ibrahim Moulavi (48) was arrested on Friday night at Badiyadukka in Kasargod district on specific information collected by the ATS,
Two different teams had been deployed to arrest the accused in the blasts, they would be brought to Bangalore shortly.
The serial blasts in July 2008 had left one killed and 20 injured. Hailing from Vellimunda of Wayanad district of Kerala, Ibrahim had been residing at Badiyadukka for the last one-and-a-half years. He was also allegedly involved in the Ernakulam Collectorate bomb blast in July last year and also in the recruitment of youths for militant activities in Kashmir.
Another suspect Ummer Farook, a notorious terror facilitator who was involved in terror recruits is also believed to be arrested in Ajmer, Rajasthan.
