Mangalore: A goods train derailed near Hoige Bazaar inside Mangalore city limits on Thursday at 6.45pm, thereby stalling interior roads traffic for over 3 hours. The last coach went off the rails after unloading cement at a goods shed on Thursday at sunset, an official informed press.
The goods train had over 20 empty coaches. No one was injured, said the police who rushed to the accident spot at the Hoige Bazaar railway gate. But several intersections and vehicular movements were found suspended for 200 minutes at night on Sept.15.
